Money is circulating energy.

I am fully aware of how weird this must sound to you. I’m still trying to believe what I’m about to tell you, but what follows is a true story that happened to me.

You may have to read that sentence twice. Let me explain. In 2016, I opened a restaurant with my husband in a summer holiday destination, and our first winter was harsh. Bills and taxes were piling up, there was no tourism, and we were too new to the locals.

We were desperate and anxious; we had no money and spent our last savings on advertising that led us nowhere. We were in trouble.

I can’t remember who wrote it, but it made a significant impact on me. The book stated something very new: it described money as an entity rather than an object.

When you are desperate, there’s little that you wouldn’t try. Two questions were spinning in my head: Who knows?; and What if?

We decided to give it a go. We relaxed. That’s all. We relaxed about money. We chose to believe that money would flow to us.

Whenever we had a coffee or buy anything, we would leave a tip thinking “it will come back” instead of keeping it tight in our pockets and feeling anxious about it.

The funny thing is, I was awkwardly pretending in the beginning. But I became good at that, and I started to believe it. All my tension disappeared, and that alone gave me clarity.

We were offering a unique service with excellent food, so we just needed to keep working, and the word would spread.

It was probably a mix of factors, but money did come sooner than expected. Whenever I gave a one euro tip, I would receive a 4 euro tip…
