Stop Telling Me to Color

I tried to make it work, but like wearing someone else’s shoes, it never quite fit the way it was supposed to. A few years ago, everyone I knew was getting on the adult color book bandwagon. They…

Orwellian Pig Pen Politics On Parade

Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength. — Eric Hoffer

The pen was oozing a murky, putrid sludge,

Through it two hogs, fresh powdered, held a venomous grudge.

They arrived for a duel, an argument of sorts,

Soon all watchers were caressed by their base grunting snorts.

The orange hog farted, grunted and burned incessant to intrude,

The grey hog seethed and hissed dismissing one so rude.

The courts came to light and propriety fell asunder,

The grey top fell silent, not tempted to venture into a vocal blunder.

But the orange coif spat his poison venom, as if he was rapping.

The grey fuzz whirled, screaming, “STOP THAT YAPPING!”

The bloated hog puffed, “in 47 years you’ve done nothing.”

The grey whisper responded, “I didn’t kill 200,000, so keep bluffing.”

“You’ve got a love of white supremacists,” the moderator said.

“No, well, but someone’s got to…” and buried his orange head.

Then Orangeman asked the racists, “to stand down and stand by.”

His discrimination was palpable like cinder in the eye.

The grey goose baited the ‘Pres’ that he generated hatred and racist division.

The orange top countered, “we must stop the vile left vision.”

“Besides, I don’t care,” he railed. I have a right to fill all judge seats.

“Then I’ll catch and blast you with my philosophical tweets.”

And so it flowed, the two were steeped in muck and mire,

Each septuagenarian waiting for the other to tire.

The orange, 70k hairdo construed a personal obnoxious aim,

In his tabloid ignorance he trundled out a sordid half-baked claim.

The grey fire erupted, but stayed focused on truth and kept his poise

As the rutting, orange buffoon spewed ought but continuous noise.

They departed as they came, full of loathing and hate.

Who was the victor… for weeks we must wait.

But give pause to consider what the world must think,

When two hogs fight in the swill, the country must sink.

Sadly, reeking and vitriolic, they cannot engage their mind

As the world cackles at the idiocy in which America is entwined.

Thanks for reading.

Ten second takeaway:

“It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.” — Maurice Switzer.
