Gay men taking over the Proud Boys hashtag

We have to thank the queer gods (one guy in particular) for the avalanche of gay men coming to the rescue. Pride Boys took over the #ProudBoys all over the internet, and we are here for it! The initiative went viral over the last weekend, and an incredible array of men participated.

Star Trek’s George Takei is to thank for starting the outpour of love. He asks Twitters users in a video to take over #ProudBoys with messages of gay love. Later, he posts this:

“Queer Eye” star Bobby Berk:

The Canadian Air Force tweeted: “If you wear our uniform, know what it means. If you’re thinking about wearing our uniform, know what it means. Love is love. Know what we mean?”

Politicians participated too:

The outpour of love was so incredible over the weekend that the white supremacist group decided to change their name to “something manly, that nobody can appropriate”. They choose Leathermen. Because they wear “cool leather jackets”. Right. They didn’t think that through.
