So. Let’s talk about abandoned carts.

I’ve been co-running an email marketing agency for the last three years.

From freelancing and consulting by myself to running a team of 5, working with clients in 10 countries has been a hugely transformative experience.

Consistently adding digits to their revenue whilst engaging customers is what I wake up for.

Yet I’m constantly shocked and distressed to see how many clients are flushing tens of thousands down the drain spinning their wheels. Especially when it comes to this particular email sequence.

If you sell online and don’t have an abandoned cart sequence set up you may as well take out your wallet and flush your cash into the swirling whirlpool of your flushing toilet.

For such a simple automation to setup the rewards from abandoned carts if phenomenal.

What an abandoned cart sequence should look like

Ideally you want to include 4–6 emails.

More it’s spammy, less you’re leaving cash on the table.

You want to speak personally.

Avoid business jargon. Avoid overly formatted emails. Avoid rich imagery.

Include a clear link back to their cart.

From email 3 onwards include an increasing discount ladder.

Start at 10%, finish at 20%.

Make your subject lines concise and make sure you push buttons.

It’s not rocket science. It’s a simple email automation that’s going to help you add zeros to your bottom line with minimal investment.

So, stop wasting time on ads, and start making money with email.
