September in our city is a treat. In fact, this place is pretty much a candy store all year round.

Of all the Australian cities, ours is the quiet achiever, having un-assumedly (in a relaxed Queensland style) risen to lofty cultural heights without posturing or overt bragging. Peering past the Jacaranda trees, and across the wraparound verandas, you’ll find art, music and food scenes to rival the finest.

Ornate botanical gardens and heritage architecture adorn the edge of town, from Alice Street to the banks of the river. A natural haven, just a short walk from the CBD, the Brisbane Botanical Gardens provide a midday sanctuary for office workers and the ideal spot for a lover’s picnic.

As locals, we may be a little biased. We wholeheartedly believe Brisbane offers a relaxed cultural experience, rich in diversity and excitement; that our city will scratch you, whatever your cultural itch. But, don’t take our word for it. Spread your wings and take it all in for yourself.
