When light shines in darkness, darkness can’t comprehend it. So it gives way.
Just because you can find your way around in life doesn’t mean you have light. It probably just means you know how to grope your way around in darkness.
After all, during a power outage, we can still move about.
The only difference is, we start to bump into things. We trip over some other things. And sometimes, we fall flat on our faces due to obstacles we meet along the way.
At other times, we’re turning around in circles wondering what the right direction is.
Many of us have so much adapted to the darkness around us, that we almost do not see the need for light.
Presently, this looks like the norm — the way life should be.
I don’t agree. I believe it is possible to have direction, prevent obstacles, see far ahead, and move with good speed, without bumping into or tripping over anything.
God knew what He was doing when He said “Let there be light” in Genesis 1:3. That was the first thing He decreed into existence after looking at all the chaos (darkness) around.
And He didn’t create light first just because He was following a to-do list. He created light first so He could see what He was doing. Creation was a big project for Him.
It’s purpose was simply illumination.
We’ve been called out of darkness (1Peter 2:9), so it’s time to operate here on earth with the mind that we walk in light.
The next time you feel confused, need direction, want to start a project or do something important, start by decreeing light in that situation. You can’t go wrong with that.
Even the work you do needs light.
