I had been working with a simple comment form like above this week, and I challenged myself today to add title Mr./Ms., but it turned out more difficult than I imagined. I encountered with some bugs…
Hey! My name is Alex and I’m a recent graduate from futureproof’s Web Developer Bootcamp. This is the first blog posts I will be making where I will write about anything from myself and my background, to the amazing skills I learned during the bootcamp and any personal projects I subsequently complete.
I first got into coding last year when I had returned home from 3 months of travelling through Southeast Asia and, unwilling to let the last 3 moths go, I thought it’d be really cool to learn how to build a blog and a photography portfolio from scratch to showcase my travels. This lead me to complete online courses and begin learning about basic web development in the form of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
I quickly realised that the more I learned, the more I loved it! I became amazed by the endless possibilities these skills, languages and technologies provided and where they could take me if I pursued a career in coding. This lead me to apply for futureproof’s 13 week Web Developer Bootcamp and here I am now at the other end of the course having gained experience with working with a vast range of amazing technologies, collaborating in teams to create secure full-stack applications and, more importantly (in my opinion), feeling like I have the confidence to tackle any problem presented to me going forward — no matter the language!
Armed with the confidence to tackle new problems and countless new skills, I am incredibly excited to build on the foundations I gained from futureproof and always continue learning. In this ever changing industry, I am eager to continue broadening my skills and put them to use in my own personal projects which I will talk more about in the coming blog posts.
Going forward, I would love to incorporate my love of technology with my other passions — whether it’s sustainability, renewable energy, food, fitness or health — and ultimately contribute to making the world a better place and improving people’s lives.
Stay tuned for more posts with more info. about the bootcamp, including some of my favourite technologies and projects from the course! 😊 ✌️
