Goodbyes are always difficult

People come into your life. You take your own time to form the connection. You share happiness with them. Sometimes, hardships too. And eventually, form the bondage — a special kind of relationship.

And there comes a time, when you have to say goodbye. No matter, how convincing the reasons are for the separations, it makes you sad. All you need is early acceptance.

One of our neighbors moved to another city. Siddhu and his parents. Perhaps, they stayed here for not more than 3 years with us. Yet, we have developed a strong connection between us.

My culture teaches us — neighbors are our first relatives. In case of emergencies or celebrations—

The exchange of food, birthday celebrations, the after-dinner discussions and of course the ice-cream parties. And not just the happier times, but also during the tough times — helping each other. We did form a special place in one another’s families. Especially with Siddhu —a 2.5 yo boy. We have seen him grow — from his birth. The day he started crying, crawling and babbling — to the day he called out our names fluently.

He made me believe — Kids have a certain aura to change the environment into positivity. No matter how tired & frustrated one is, spending a little time with them re-energize and brings out the child in us. He inadvertently played a reminder to me — Dude, take it easy and just smile.

I am going to miss him — his mockery, the mischievous innocence, the constant chirping of repetitive words, his way of climbing the sofa and the ever-lasting smile. When Siddhu grows up, I am not sure if he will remember me or not. But, I surely have a special place in me for him.
